
In 2011 Salini, privately held, began its acquisition of Impregilo with an initial purchase of shares, reaching 25% the following year. The company was founded as Impregilo in 1959 and expanded following a merger with Cogefar-Impresit S.p.A., Girola S.p.A. The company is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange.
